Thoughts: 28-June-2009

Excellent Saturday night of TV viewing on BBC America. Primeval was a great episode and the Doctor Who special, The Next Doctor, was very good. I have really enjoyed David Tennant's portrayal as the Tenth Doctor and he will be missed as he leaves the role to be replaced by Matt Walsh as the Eleventh Doctor.

Casting has always been pretty good for Doctor Who, the actors have done a lot to make the role their own. Patrick Troughton really set the stage with his unique portrayal as the Doctor which allowed other actors to redefine the role when they were casted.

The new series has done a great job of updating the storyline with more adult themes and harder edged story lines. I look forward to the new episodes, starting with the July 27th one on BBC America.

I have the 11th episode of Harper's Island to watch today via DVR. Looks like CBS is skipping next weekend and doing the final two episodes on July 11.

Tonight I have the DVR recording back to back episodes of Merlin on NBC as I plan to watch Law & Order: Criminal Intent at 8 pm on USA and then the rerun of Cold Case at 9 on CBS that I have not seen. Then back to USA for In Plain Sight at 10 pm. True Blood (HBO), I will be watching later this week via Comcast On Demand. Looks like the new episodes will not be forthcoming over this holiday weekend starting on Thursday night.

Oh well.
