Thoughts: 26-April-2009

I joined the Blackberry clan by upgrading my plan yesterday. At least I will have Internet and email access when I go to Harrisburg to visit my mother. She does not even get a newspaper let alone a computer with Internet access, and instead of watching the local news, she prefers reruns of MASH and Everybody Loves Raymond.

I caught up with a number of shows yesterday via DVR. Private Practice was as moronic as usual. The Audra McDonald character is being wooed by some other practice to come and run it and practice medicine the way it should be. When she was in charge before, didn't the practice go broke? Pete has a chance to be with a beautiful wonderful woman (played by Idina Menzel, Taye Diggs' real life wife) and drops her to be with Violet and maybe his baby. The other potential baby daddy, Brian Benben character decides he needs to express to Violet his love for her. And Violet the responsible adult that she is, still has not done any testing to determine who the frak the father is. And she is a frakking therapist?

Grey's Anatomy featured the dying Lizzie as she plans Meredith and Derek's weddings. George and Alex are doing the moping now in the show while Meredith is oh so happy that she is getting married. Sadly, this is an improvement over Private Practice.

Some good shows I saw were CSI and CSI: NY, both with great writing and great performances.

Harper's Island is really starting to jell into one of those ridiculous shows that make you laugh at the oh so serious antics. Too bad this is not on FX or HBO, definitely could have a lot of nudity and sex play. The latest victim has a bag of money and a $50,000 check as he leaves the island only to get killed by a hidden gun. Also, only one of the six victims has been discovered by the one cop on this island. He plays Bobby on Supernatural and you can almost see him thinking, I got to get Sam and Dean here.

Tonight, Law & Order: Criminal Intent features the first episode with Jeff Goldblum as one of the detectives. I am looking forward to seeing that episode as Goldblum is a very underrated actor.

And in a another big win, the Red Sox beat the Yankees 16-11, can they do a clean sweep tonight?

Oh well.
